Things To Do In Ilfracombe

Come rain or shine there is lots to see and do in Ilfracombe. You can visit the famous historical 'Tunnel' beaches or experience the fascinating  journey from an Exmoor stream to the Atlantic Ocean at Ilfracombe Aquarium. Nestled next to the Landmark Theatre, which always has a good programme of cultural and family events, you will find the Ilfracombe museum alternatively sample some of the splendid chocolate at the Walker's Chocolate Museum. The children will enjoy the mini golf, many play areas and the simple delights of crabbing or exploring the rock pools at Ilfracombe beaches.

There are also a number of theme parks and Zoo's close to Ilfracombe including The Big Sheep, Combe Martin Dinasour Park and Exmouth Zoo to name a few. If you don't fancy cooking there are an abundance of restaurants, pubs, takeaways to cater for all tastes and budgets and don't forget the tea shops for devon cream teas - all within walking distance of the Waverley apartment! There's also a cinema showing all the latest films.
Ilfracombe has a small high street with many specialist shops showcasing local foods and crafts and there are also two small supermarkets for you to stock up on everything you will need for your stay or a superstore within a five minute drive.

As you can imagine with it's busy historic Harbour, boats play an important role in the life of Ilfracombe and a holiday there would not be complete without schedulling a day's boat trip over to Lundy Island or a cruise along the idyllic Devon coast line to view some of this country's rare wildlife. The sporting adventurer can go white water rafting, scuba diving or take a simple sea fishing trip.
